February 2024: Reaching out to Front Range writers and beyond!
Winter Workshopping Events are Monday, February 5, and Monday, March 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. RSVP with your first and last name and your manuscripts to CastleRockWriters@gmail.com.
Castle Rock Writers invites you to workshop your poetry or prose pieces. Or attend online and give input to others. Email manuscripts double-spaced, 12-14 points, with 1’ margins, by this Sunday evening (for the Feb. 5th workshopping). CRW will send the electronic documents to participants to read before the Monday evening Zoom meeting. Poets may send in up to five poems (less than 10 pages), and prose writers may submit manuscripts up to 10 pages. Or bring 1-2 pages to read aloud.
The group will be asked to share what aspects of the writing worked for them as readers. Next, the participants will share what confused them or what they would like to see in a rewrite. We will end on a positive note, emphasizing the strengths of the work. This will not be an in-depth edit or a session where general statements about an author’s work will be made. Our workshopping events should send writers off with encouragement and ideas for future writing without discouraging them.
The workshopping has been sporadic, but we’re still here and wanting to hear from you! Join us if you can. castlerockwriters@gmail.com
